A TRUE HISTORY (2012)

Inspired by Lucian's True Story, A True History is a ​play written by Chas LiBretto and was directed by Louis Butelli. Chas LiBretto has now adapted it to be a full length novel.


It was performed twice in 2012, originally as a Workshop at Lost Colony, Professional Theatre Workshop (Manteo, NC) and later as a staged reading at the Vineyard Theatre (New York, NY).

Adapted by Louis Butelli, Robert Richmond and Chas Libretto from Shakespeare's macbeth, A Tale Told by an Idiot was directed by Robert Richmond.


It was performed at the Hollywood Fringe Festival (Los Angeles, CA) in 2010, and again that year at the Son of Semele Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. It was revived in 2015 and performed at both the Clark Theatre in Lincoln Center (New York, NY) and the Majorie Deane Theatre (New York, NY).

CYCLOPS: A ROCK OPERA (2011)

Cyclops: A Rock Opera is new original musical adapted from Euripides' Cyclops. It was co-written by Chas Libretto and Louis Butelli, with music and lyrics were written by Landon Marcus & Benjamin Sherman. It was also directed by Louis Butelli


It was originally performed in 2011 at the Son of Semele Theatre (Los Angeles, CA), and performed later that year at the Pasadena Playhouse (Pasadena, CA), The Falcon (Marlboro, NY), NYMF, 47th St Theatre (New York, NY), and the Brooklyn Tea Lounge (Brooklyn, NY). It was performed at Alabama Shakespear (Montgomery, AL), in 2012, and twice in 2014 at Ars Nova Uncharted (New York, NY) and Ars Nova ANT Fest (New York, NY).
